I don’t recommend the brand ‘Emla’
I’ve found that particular brand seems to cause the most issues & can make your skin hard to tattoo.
If this is your first time using numbing cream I would recommend going to a compound chemist to get one made up for you. Alternatively sourcing from a reputable brand online prior to our appointment.
When applying numbing cream the correct application is a must.
You will have to wash, gently exfoliate & shave the area the morning of our appointment.
Roughly 60-80 minutes before your appointment you can apply the cream.
Make sure the area is completely dry before applying a thick layer of cream over the area we will be tattooing and approximately an inch around the surrounding area, don’t rub it in.
Then cover with cling wrap and tape to secure. I will remove it before we start tattooing.
I recognise the Darkinjung people as the traditional owners of the land in which we work & live.
I extend my respect to all Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, past, present & emerging.
